A bespoke range of photographic tours, designed and lead by travel photographer Steve Davey with land arrangements provided by Intrepid Travel. These tours draw on Steve's years of experience and intimate knowledge of some of the most fascinating and evocative parts of the planet.
More than a holiday, you will benefit from many picture taking opportunities as well as tailored photographic tuition & encouragement.
Intrepid Travel have been running small group adventures for twenty years and you will be fully protected by their travel industry bonding.
The tours are primarily designed around photography and we aim to visit as many places as possible in the best light and spend as much time as we can taking pictures. On one of these trips you will learn more about travel photography that you ever thought possible. But these tours are about more than photography and learning: we also aim to give you an enjoyable holiday where you can explore, relax, interact with locals and see some of the amazing highlights that your destination has to offer.
All of the land arrangements are provided by Intrepid Travel who have over 20 years of experience in running small group adventures, meaning that you are fully protected by their travel industry bonding.
On one of Steve Davey's photo tours you will be shown as many photographic opportunities as possible and receive custom tuition in all aspects of travel photography. Steve mixes illustrated talks most evenings, group practical demonstrations, individual tuition and photo critiques to tailor learning to your own needs and interests. Although primarily for people who want to learn more about Digital Travel Photography, you will learn a vast amount even if you still shoot film.
Travelling with other keen photographers, allows you to benefit from their enthusiasm and be in a picture-taking environment where your hobby will not just be tolerated, but actively encouraged by other members of the group.

Steve Davey has developed a wide range of tours to some of his most favourite places in the World. The key for these trips is coming up with unique and stimulating travel photography experiences, so the itineraries and destinations will regularly change. Wherever possible we will try to co-ordinate our trips with a local festival or event to get the best possible picture opportunities and cultural experiences. At the moment we have four tours available: two completely new itineraries and a welcome return to both Morocco and the stunning region of Ladakh in India.

Impressions of Kerala • 28 January 2012 • 14 days • £1495 ex. int. flights
Kerala is a magical place with a unique atmosphere in India. It is more relaxed than the North, with it’s own temple architecture and even style of food. This travel photo tour is a fantastic opportunity to explore this lush, tropical region and learn more about travel photography than you ever imagined possible. We visit some of the most evocative places in Kerala, including Cochin and the Periyar Wildlife Park. We will sail the famed backwaters of Kerala, and cross into Tamil Nadu to photograph the stunning Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai, with it's soaring gopuram towers, bedecked with colourful religious icons. This tour also visits one of the famous temple festivals where dozens of caparisoned elephants are paraded around a temple in front of crowds of fervent pilgrims, and costumed Kathakali dancers enact religious tales. Impressions of Nepal • October 2012 • Dates and price TBA
Nepal is an entrancing country, with mountainous scenery and a vibrant Buddhist culture and our Impressions of Nepal photography tour will take in some of the best that it has to offer. We will cover the three most popular regions: the Kathmandu Valley, the mountain town of Pokhara and Chitwan National Park on the low-lying Terai. We will explore the Kathmandu Valley region, before heading to Pokhara where we are planning to have a gentle two or three day trek. We will then head to Chitwan where we hope to see some of the rare Indian Rhions, and possibly even the elusive tiger. Steve Davey will accompany the tour, supplying inspiration and extensive tuition.
We are hoping to time this trip to coincide with one of Nepal's vibrant religious festivals. The final itinerary and price for this tour are to be announced. Click picture to see more.
Impressions of Laos & Vietnam • November/December 2012 • Dates & price TBA
The histories of Laos and Vietnam have been intertwined in recent history, yet they have wildy different characters and atmospheres. Laos is a lanquid and laid back country where Buddhism is at the heart of the nation. The highlight is Luang Prabang, the best preserved town in Asia. We will also visit the capital of Vientiane, as well as the beautiful scenery around Vang Vieng. In Vietnam Hanoi, the capital, is bustling, and the people are lively and welcoming We have some time here to explore, before heading north to SaPa in the north to photograph the famous hilltribe market and then to the coast to see the stunning Halong Bay.
