Many writers, whether they be working freelancers, ambitious staffers, aspiring professionals or personal bloggers, just don't get photography. At best they regard it as something to be done grudgingly – at worst they don't bother! But if you are a writer or a blogger having the ability to take adequate pictures will increase your income, get you more work and potentially drive more hits to your blog.
This course won't make you a prize-winning photographer, but it will teach you the basics of illustrating a feature and the range of shots that you will need. This will include an establishing shot, shooting details and above all how to shoot a god portrait. This should be the least that you come away with – the ability to shoot a passable portrait of anyone that you interview.
This course will be based in Central London and will take in some of the most striking sights, including Buckingham Palace, Leicester Square and Covent Garden. We will start off with a short illustrated lecture, followed by an intense practical session in various parts of the capital. We will end up looking at simple post-processing and how to caption and keyword pictures before looking at method of digital delivery.
The start and end points will be notified with your invoice.

I learnt a lot more about composition and looking for new angles. One month... I earned more from published travel photographs than from my writing."
